Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) - Flower Mound, TX
North Texas Diabetes & Endocrinology of Flower Mound is adding an Advanced Practice Provider to our care team. The ideal candidate has 5 years of experience with endocrinology/diabetes at the APP level.
Responsibilities
Provides medical care and treatment to patients under the supervision of a physician
Performs physical examinations and preventative health measures with the collaboration of a physician
Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assist patients’ clinical challenges and health care needs
Records physical findings, and formulates treatment plans, based on patients’ conditions
Discusses cases with physician to prepare comprehensive treatment plans
Submits treatment plans and goals for patients’ for periodic review by a physician
Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment
Other duties as assigned
Skills
Experience in patient care management
Experience using EHR systems
Strong community health interest
Maintain patient confidentiality
Broad knowledge of medications, side effects, and contraindications
In-depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medicine best practices
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Compassionate and approachable
Education and Experience
Advanced degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Licensed to practice in the State of Texas with no restrictions or discipline
Current DEA/DPS registration
At least two (2) years of practice in endocrinology/diabetes, five (5) years preferred
