North Texas Diabetes is adding an experienced Clinic Nurse to our Endocrinology clinic in Allen, TX.

What will you do?

  • Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in the patient’s chart.

  • Assist the medical provider in exam rooms.

  • Give instructions to patients as instructed by the medical provider.

  • Ensure all related reports, labs, and information is filed is available in the patient's medical record prior to their appointment.

  • Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies.

  • Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to the patient, medical provider, or pharmacy.

  • Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to the medical providers.

  • Collect and tag specimens exactly as outlined in each medical requisition

  • Properly package each specimen and ensure that every specimen is delivered to the laboratory on time

  • Serve as a resource for clinical staff

What are we looking for?

  • LVN or LPN in Texas with no previous discipline

  • Experience working in a specialty office, including drawing blood and administering injections.

  • Understanding of medical terminology including commonly prescribed medications.

  • Excellent patient service and patient relationship skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Experience using Electronic Medical Record systems. (EMRs).

  • Bilingual a plus

What are the details?

  • This is a full-time position.

  • Hours are Monday - Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Fridays, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • Compensation is dependent on experience.
